“Blessed with Grace” is a Painted Portrait done for our Portraits for Life Program. The whole process starts with a children’s portrait session done in our studio which is all about play; dress up and model for the camera! Our emphasis in not on props or gimmicks, but on capturing a timeless image of a child that will be cherished and endure the test of time. While working together in the studio we get to know one another and soon that perfect relaxed confident expression is revealed and we have exactly what I have been working for, along with lots of other fun poses too. To achieve a Painted Portrait the next step is to digitally apply hundreds of paint daubs to the image and work them individually with various brushes. The image is then further refined and printed on a canvas textured paper and this time enhanced carefully with acrylic glazes that add depth of color and longevity to the finished portrait.
“Delights in God” is a traditional color studio portrait that is classically lit to show the delicate features of the child. They grow up so fast! This little guy was soooo much fun to photograph but he only had about 20 minutes to share with us in the studio and he was DONE! Not surprising, the smallest ones always dictate the session. Here are a few other images from the session. Thank you for participating in our Portraits for Life Program and happiest of 1st Birthday photos to you Mr. K!
